Shannon Smith, COO at Jibunu, had the opportunity to participate in the Market Research Education Foundation (MREF) trip to Haiti to volunteer time at The Joseph School and an orphanage. This group of like-minded market researchers from around the world joined together to not only read and play with the children but also help plant trees, clean up trash on the school grounds and lay cement, literally starting to pave the road to The Joseph School. They visited an orphanage and walked through a village with the local children. Haiti is the poorest country in the Western hemisphere. In distance, Haiti is very close to the United States however, as Shannon learned, it couldn’t be more different. You can read about Shannon’s experience on the Insights Association’s blog.
